That's not a good one to experience....
I'm currently in the middle of my stay and fortunately haven't experienced the same. And I'm in one of the adjoining rooms.
So far my stay hasn't been the best. The overall service has been mostly one of incompetence and sometimes laziness, with very few exceptions.
The best service so far has been the check-in. I had used one of my Diamond suite upgrades, and got one of the family suites. Not a bad room, but it lacks a balcony. The hotel was almost full for the first night, but I was able to get one of the sunset suites for the rest of my stay. And a very nice room it is, with a (not really large) balcony with a nice beach view.
But then the incompetence started. When I got to the front desk at arond 10:00 to switch rooms the previous occupants had allready checked out and I was told that the room would be ready at 12:00. But when I arrived to pick up my new keys at 13:30 it still wasn't ready. That took them untill 14:30....I had to ask two more times.
And although the front desk got a confirmation from the bellman that my bags were moved, you guessed it. No bags in the room when I arrived...
This morning another bad experience. Since it's Sunday they don't serve breakfast in one of the restaurants, instead they offer a brunch (I guess that brings in more money). And you guessed it, the restaurant that is open for breakfast is overcrowded and there was a 15min line to get in. And service was really slow as a result of it.
And then there is:
- the very small regency lounge on the 9th floor with no real view and the same offerings each day
- no complimentary water in the room, instead they charge you $6.50 a bottle
- the situation with the chairs and umbrella's at the beach. I knew that before arriving, but it's still stupid
Next time I want a beach destination it will be in Asia again. This just doesn't compare.....
