While many fares, including deeply discounted ones, can be combined on a 'half round trip' basis etc (subject to lots of T&C and restrctions), this not the case with reward redemption flights.
My plan is to travel from LHR to PEK, get an internal flight to HKG, and then from there back to LHR.
Now I hope to buy a BA club seat and upgrade to F to PEK, and then a 100%mileage J ticket with CX to LHR. These redemption seats are available.
Given you can't do what you wanted - the cost you would be talking about for a oneway J cash fare will make this bonkers as I think you appreciate.
There has got to be a better way to do this now. Why were you wanting CX back? just because there was avilability?
