Oh, I agree. But it is somewhat different than "regular." Regular CP's can check in without a problem. Me, actually both of me, have to play another game. It is no different except that the TTF's are in my name as I am me, sort of. They are just in the name that is mine that is given an XS middle initial so that the computer will know that I am different from me so that two seats will be issued. The mess was horrible when I started doing this. I found out that someone, somewhere, must do a manual linking of the two reservations so that instead of being two me's with two seats there is one me with two seats. For every reservation, I must call customer service and they will link them in the computer. Except they can not do it. They have to call someone else that does it. The CS tells me it has been done.
If it is not done correctly, when I check in, and I MUST check in at the airport, the reservation screen shows both of me, but there is no indication that both me's are me. it looks like there are actually two of me. They have to call someone that make the two of me one of me while still keeping the two seats for both me's. This takes a long time as they have to call the computer people that can do this. It has taken up to an hour, but usually they are off the phone in 5-10 minutes.
The very first time I did this it actually let me check in on line and made an uncorrectable total mess. I had A-17 and my companion, which was me and also A+, had A-18. In the end, both reservations were cancelled, I got a new ticket in the high B's but my companion never got linked. So I was walked to the gate by the ticket agent. At my destination, I spent 3 hours on the phone getting all my reservations fixed.
