Look at LH. They bailed out the moment they could. They didn't even offer a choice for existing members to go the way of M&M thereby guaranteeing loyalty with *A flights. They just ran out the door and switched off the lights !
LH was required to do that as part of its deal closing with BA/IAG. I may have preferred otherwise but the outcome is still rather fair.
