In this case, there was no way to be on the same reservation (one was a roundtrip booked two weeks ago, the other a one-way booked today).
So, in summary, I can bring up to 8 non-status companions into E+ if they're on my same PNR, but not even one if on a different PNR. Seriously, who benefits from this policy?
I used to love flying UA and was typically treated very well. Even as recently as two months ago, I was loving the ability to fly either UA or CO and still have a combined earning. Now, the adoption of PMCO policies even where they don't make sense is leaving me frustrated.
Works fine until 24 hours before departure when the upgrade policy kicks in and splits your PNR from your companions. Got in a battle a couple of weeks ago with a CSR agent who had the nerve to sit there and tell me I was the one who had split the reservation.
