Buying Tickets for Train Travel in Greece

Hi,

I'm planning on going from Athens to Thessaloniki tomorrow and don't yet have a ticket. Anyone have experience buying tickets in Athens? I see on the www.trainose.gr website you can buy tickets, but I think it says it has to be 24 hours in advance (which this wouldn't be) though it appears to possibly let me buy them anyway, but it has all kinds of discounts available (15%, 50%, 75%!) and I don't understand what they. Anyone know anything about those? I'd love a 75% discount.

Alternatively, I know you can buy tickets at the rail station. Does anyone know, do these lines tend to fill up? Will I have a problem getting on a train?
