Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm new to all this

Just joined the flying club (should have done that years ago probably!), and I've been told that I going to get 5,000ish miles for my flight from London Gatwick to Las Vegas. Apparently that's because my ticket is rated class 'O'. I didn't know there was different classes within the classes, and thought Economy was just Economy? It seems that if I have other classes (but still in Economy) I get double the miles?

Whys this? Seems like I'm missing out - can I do anything about it?
