Looks like the prices are 0.03 cpm for the RDM and 0.10 cpm for PQM, making the total cost 0.13 cents per RDM+EQM. So for a 2000-mile flight I could buy 4000 RDM + 4000 PQM for $520.

However, I have the PresPlus card which gives me 1 RDM per $ and 1000 PQM per $5000. So I could pay my taxes putting $20K on my card with a 1.95% fee, which costs $390, gets me the same 4000 PQM, but 20000 RDM.

Only problem with that approach is I guess I have to plan further ahead than I would for the award accelerator route. Good to know it's available as a last minute option, though.

+1. I've just been looking at it as a option if I need to top off a status tier as well. I have the PMUA Select card from which I can get up to 5k is EQM per year on UA.com spend, so the accerator would just be a fall back.
