I tend to lose weight when I'm on vacation and not visiting family. I think that this is because I do a lot more exercise with all the walking and site seeing.
I'm the same way. If I'm visiting/touring a place, I usually only eat 2 meals a day (breakfast can be HUGE though), and do a ton of walking. I was trying to figure out how much walking we did per day in Rome last year...I'd guess 5 miles. Plus I was still doing some swimming and running.
But if I visit my Mom...there's always food around. Yes I'll run, but when not visiting relatives and such I spend quite a bit of time sitting and watching tv.
