If this were at ORD/IAH/etc, you might get an equipment swap, and that
flight might actually leave on time. In EZE, more doubtful - did you check
flight status to see if it is awaiting the incoming?
If that's a yes, then I'd not go at 5 pm.
However, you also have to consider:
1. Checked luggage - they may try to follow the rules of the original departure time. Are they willing to carry-on, if they have to?
2. Security - Will they be able to clear security at 12:00 am? Or will the
place be shut down? This also applies to item 1, if they do wish to check baggage.
Me? I'd go around 9 or 10.
