I have done that as well. TSA also doesn't seem to notice (or they dono't care) if there is a mini left in your carry on. One time I was flying home and used a HOOU and had a FA that gave me two mini's with my drink and he said "there is a special on my cart today 2 for 1" and then said something about sorry I didn't get upgraded (this was a (LAS to DTW flight and EVERY seat in F must have been paid for or miles or SWU's were used because 2 weeks out there were no seats available upfront for even purchase). I only wanted one drink and put the second mini in my backpack and totally forgot about it. I took at least six flights before I found it in my backpack when I was looking for something else, I forgot all about it and TSA had never said a thing on any of those flights when I had it with me.
