With ANY airline there is no guarantee 6 months ahead. Especially with severe economic uncertainties.
Making a booking for the next "season" (which starts in the Fall) is always risky nowadays. At least CX gives a four months notice (May to September), so time to adjust. Some other airlines routinely make shorter term adjustments (e.g. TG). And CX automatically provide you with another booking, which many airlines don't, eventhough not booked with CX miles.
That does not mean that CX will not have to further cut service as yields are dropping.
