I enjoy FT and especially the BA Board because I can chat to folks of similar character - lets be honest we must all be the same to enjoy conversations about dove paint jobs and undercooked sausages!
Every time I think I am about to switch my allegiance from BA they do something to make me stay - and the BA Board is no different.
This time my brother and his better half were flying back home after a very nice couple of weeks visiting me in LAS. They flew AA to LAX and then were picking up the 282 LAX-LHR and then eventually EDI. Well they had been badgering me to upgrade them to Club for months - I had booked them WT+ both ways but they have never experienced Club before - I just didn't want to spend the miles or money so batted them off but felt a bit guilty! Anyway - yesterday they flew their AA flight to LAX and then sat waiting for their BA flight to LHR and beyond. As they went through the last boarding pass check they got the ever desired beep. Now my brother who is a pessimist thought they were being off loaded but nope they were both being upgraded to Club. I think I could see their smile from here

. Now that is not the bit that made me proud of BA - it was the treatment they got for being Club 'newbies' - from directions on how to use the seat, making sure they understood drinks/papers were free and to advice on the food choice. All done in a non-condesending and friendly manner - unfortunately they now have the taste
Now why do I keep reading FT? It is because folks on this board understand what joy I get from that experience of my brother's - they understand my liking of Intercontinental hotels and I can find the free drinks vouchers in AA lounges that very kind people have hidden when they don't want to use them.
FT is a community - we sometimes fall out, argue and don't like what each other are saying but in the end I feel safe and happy chatting in the environment with likeminded folks!
