At some point AA has to make a decision to inconvenience some connecting pax in favor of those already on a largely full plane and in consideration of crew duty limits and the next day's schedule.
it just puzzles me that our flight, 383 was scheduled 7:40 and got delayed to 11:44 while next gate 403 to same destination scheduled 10:30pm only delayed to 11:10. why they don't let those 383 people get on that aircraft and leave? after I boarded, the 403 actually waited about 20 minutes more for misconnect. if they board 383 people they don't need to let the crew wait.
just don't make sense to me. but then, maybe AA just lost their mind that night... as they put two flights at same gate 4 minutes apart...
