I hope not. Hay, I get that your a big fan of AA and if I didn't have my own problem with UA I never would have started this thread. All of us on here (except PMCO customers) are angry at UA for different reasons. Some small and some HUGE............But to pretend AA is the next SQ and UA, the next Pakistan Intl is a little disingenuous We all have our own opinions, let's respect every one of them

It's an obvious thing to do since those passenger are more likely to fly more and be willing to part with the extra money to spend on a club membership.

And it almost even explains why they don't offer segment fee upgrades to elites: doesn't matter if you offer one to a non-elite flyer, it won't change their future buying decision. But if you consistently offer those to a frequent flyer, then they will be less incentivised to buy-up to 1st but rely on the segment fee upgrade.

YEARS ago, when UA had a hub in Miami, they had a wonderful station manager (Alex). She knew it was very hard to compete w AA in there own back yard. What did she do? She started a policy (the only one of its kind w UA) that said ALL 1K's regardless of fare paid and destination could use the RCC OR INT FIRST CLASS LOUNGE for free!!! She also hosted dinner parties at some of Miami's BEST restauraunts twice a year for Miami based 1K's (there were very few in 1996-97. What happened to such a loyal executive? She lost her job and got thrown out for not getting the proper ok from Chicago. Last I heard she was the travel editor for the Miami Herald
