Although only a beverage service, we still had the option of peanuts, pretzels, or cookies (Biscoff brand) with the beverage and no attitude when I asked for both peanuts and pretzels. After the beverages were served, they came down the aisle and asked row by row if anyone wanted another drink or one of the small snacks I mentioned above. It was a pleasant change that I rather liked.
I don't want to leave United. I felt special for several years but now I don't.
If you change your tune, they matched this UA 1K over to DL-PM. Someone called me after my second paid C TATL in March to ask me about my flying patterns, I was impressed. I'm now booked to DM by Sep. I'm still flying UA some and hoping it improves but my first fare search is now on DL and I only head over to .bomb if the fares/schedules don't look quite right.
Beyond a lot of complaints about UA -- the tone you noted was my main reason for even taking a status match. They're just so much nicer, and treat you with a lot more dignity than I've been getting the last few months on UA, and that's for a mere Platinum.
