I signed up for the Platinum free trial before going. I got a welcome bottle of champagne and free breakfast for two each morning (4 mornings), and a welcome drink at the bar, none of which are official Platinum amenities. I also got free internet (which is). I have never been a Hyatt member; I only signed up just before transferring 88,000 Chase UR points to make this reservation.

I was originally there 5/8-12, but my flight got screwed up and I couldn't check in until the 9th. Initially I was told that I couldn't stay 5/9-13 on points (I would have had to pay for the last night, 850 Euro), but at check in she was able to keep me on points for four nights. Not sure if the availability actually changed over the last 12 hours before check in, or she was just being nice, or what.

Staff were all very friendly, though we didn't interact with them much -- had breakfast in the mornings and that's about it. I was in a Park Queen room, which was on the small side, but nice. Service was very nice. When there was a small glitch with housekeeping (not sure if it was my fault or theirs) they sent up a half bottle of champagne as consolation.

Location is nice, but the area is lots of high end shops; you have to search out smaller cafes/restaurants. Not impossible, just worth noting. (probably like staying at the Plaza or something in NYC). Everything's very expensive: breakfast was 49 Euro/person; cocktails at the bar around 25. Just a coffee will run you 10, and even at L'Arpege coffee was only 6!

Very convenient to many sights and easy to get around on the metro. Roissybus to Opera isn't a long walk, and the RER is nearby as well. Could get around to most/all of the major sights on the metro without a transfer.

We had a baby and requested a crib -- they brought a crib, bottle warmer, training toilet, and bathtub apparatus. That was nice: though we didn't use the bottle warmer and our kid is way too young to be toilet trained, we did use the little thing in the bathtub.

The shower setup was weird -- had a sink and mirror in the shower, in addition to the regular bathroom sink/mirror. I'd never seen that before. Separate tub as well. No bidet; not that I care but I thought that was standard in France?

Overall a very nice experience. Everything was overpriced, and I'd never pay this much if I was paying out of pocket, but a good value when you get free nights/breakfast/drinks/internet through points/status.

Nice write up, any suggestions for dinner
