I recently stayed in a suite at the Hotel am Stephansplatz and ejoyed it a lot, although the hotel overall is not 5*. I took a peek inside the Imperial and thought it felt pretty dated, though I didn't get to see the rooms. I also had a drink at the Sofitel bar. The hotel itself seems like an upscale 4*, and the bar was full of a lot of trendy nonsense, mediocre cocktails, and precisely the kind of clientele that stuff appeals to. Sort of like a W.
