With regard to Boston, this is just NO LONGER true. Yes, perhaps, 10+ years ago; but Boston now has many quite solid restaurant choices (on the high end). It's also got quite a few good ones on the low end.

Sorry, had to "chime-in" about that. While it ain't no NYC, Boston is no longer a 'slacker' in the foodie world.
