i have been on a few flights that did sudden stops when on the taxiways/ramp areas....i wouldn't have wanted to be standing...besides, you have to wait til the door is opened...
Yeah. I've seen people get up and get knocked into the seat in front of them when the pilot stopped. In the aisle they might have fallen.


There's also an even more important factor: What do people do when they get up on the airplane? Get their stuff! People who simply stand are no threat to anyone other than other standees (except for those in rear-facing FA seats.) However, if you have a bag in your hand when the lurch comes you could drop it on someone.
