I was on US 225 from BOS to PHX today, and midway through the flight an F/A came through the coach cabin with a printout of the preferred members (yes, even us lowly Silvers). She greeted each by name, apologized for the upgrade not clearing, and offered a complimentary drink. Nice.

I had the same experience a few months ago on DL from MSP to DCA. So it happens on other airlines on rare occasions, too.
