No need to be a thermal engineer. Hot feels hot and cold feels cold. If the skin is hotter, it is transferring heat. A silver Coke can left in the Sun will get hotter to the touch than a white Coke can. Therefore, it will be transferring more heat to the inside. A mirrored surface may reflect lots of
visible light, but it still gets hot in the Sun.
Yeah, Doug said he'd keep the AA brand name. That is a no brainer since the USAir brand is probably the most hated brand in the industry, as was Alleghany before they changed names. Doug was a fool to keep the USAir name after the first buyout.
Doug isn't commenting on the livery. I am pretty confident in predicting no matter what, all those newly painted US/HP Airbuses are
not going to end up repainted in some pseudo-metallic. Jeez, they'd look like huge Platinum American Express Cards.
BTW, my reference to the musical "Mamma Mia" was that Mamma Mia (i.e.-ABBA) is so out that it's in again, like the AA logo. Now, if I only had an airline named
