And does anyone know of another way to book ta CP ticket online? Used to be so easy with a link right on the award page something like "Book a Companion Pass Ticket."
Mister Kelley & his minions have had their IT cart deep in the ditch for over a year now. Assorted functionality (for Customers *and* Employees) was never great for an outfit that boasts about being a Major Airline, but it took a major turn for the worse with the advent of RR2.

One would think fixing things that 1)Deny The Company much-needed revenue (Customers go elsewhere), or 2)Make The Company look like it's managed by a bunch of buffoons would be a priority. But I digress.

The disappearing now-you-see-it/now-you-don't CP booking link/icon seems (at least to me) to have become even more erratic in recent months. As several wise folks have already pointed-out, the CP booking link/icon generally does seem to re-appear within a variable time-period after booking the first ticket.

Depending on your booking timeline (4 months in advance vs. 4 hours out), an obvious concern is someone else snapping-up the remaining seat(s) before you're able to get your CP reserved.

Several have had good luck with this link as a "back way in" to book a CP (once you have booked your own reservation):

http://www.southwest.com/account/rapidrewards/bookCompanion.html?recordLocator={PNR}&ss=0

You need to replace the letters PNR with the actual PNR from your own reservation that you just made.
