One swallow doesn't make a Summer, but ...

... despite being operated by a 777, BA217 yesterday (LHR-IAD) possibly ranks as our best CW flight to date. Nearly full cabin as well. Rather than try to write a short novel, I'll just list the highlights:
  • Charming, energetic and engaged CC
  • Taittinger and Sancerre perfectly chilled. Reds were not!
  • Steak perfectly cooked medium-rare. It can be done! Even the vegetables were al dente.
  • Regular refills by ever-present CC.
  • Meal service completed within 2:30 from takeoff.
  • "New afternoon tea with very fresh finger sandwiches instead of the packet of cheap sarnies. Colourful macaroons. Second offering of warm scones. Coffee was still cr@p, though

Good landing in a brisk crosswind as well! ^

The formal Well Done via BA.com will, of course be sent, and my seat (10G) was pre-selected (printed on the envelope, so no cheating) for the usual questionnaire.

Incidentally, G-VMMG had perfectly serviceable AVOD and a clean and tidy cabin.

Really very, very pleased. Nice one, BA - now why can't it always be like this?
