It's not catering to the lowest common denominator, nor is it "spoon feeding", nor does it make posts untidy, to simply add the full name of airport when first using a less well known code, so Isle of Man IOM would easily have addressed this concern.

It is ridiculous to suggest that "playing the loyalty game" is not for people if they don't know all the codes, or that thousands of others reading posts on the main FT boards should waste their time individually looking up less well known airports.

Much easier if the OPs simply follow my suggestion above.
