The problem ist, that most of the Alliance Hospitality Hotels are of very bad quality. Once being good, they were really running down lately. I stayed in one of their hotels in Bordeaux and everything was breaking apart. Dirty floors etc. Then they left HI. The HI Montpellier, which was under renovation shortly, still really doesn`t meet expectations. HI Marseille.... the HIEX Marseille at the station is much much better and nicer. Crowne Plaza Toulouse is quite nice. In Verona was also an HI, which was a catastrophy. I don`t think the Venice Mestre is much better. So they should find a new big partner in France. Does anyone know when the announced HIEX Dijon will open?
I stayed at the HI Marseille not too long ago and thought it was an excellent HI in a much nicer location than the HIX. I was upgraded to a very nice suite with a large balcony. I didn't see anything wrong with this hotel and I'm sorry its leaving IHG.
