I told the hotel my stepmother and I are OK with either two twins or a King bed. The hotel doesn't seem to have a huge selection of twin bedded rooms, so I wanted to have the best chance for an upgraded room, and we are OK with sharing a bed--although I think the last time we did that was when she was just my dad's girlfriend, and the three of us were taking me to college!

The "sitting area" in our exec room last year was one of those large leather (?) chaise lounge-style couches. It was by the bedroom area window, and not separate from the room itself--just a couple of feet from the side of the bed. It was fine for us last year, but it would not be great for sitting up at night if someone was sleeping.
