Old post about New York, but just read the whole thread. I had a similar taxi in NYC once and asked the driver why he didn't have a security barrier. He said that if you, the driver, own your own medallion (i.e. taxicab license), then you can decide not to have the security barrier. This is apparently quite rare. He said the medallion was a great retirement investment for him (I think they are valued at more than US$1m now), and he really did it just to have the investment, and only drove the cab on weekends for fun. Needless to say, one of my more informative taxi journeys.

Agreed. A nice little airport (though they are very strict about check-in deadlines). Sadly, there's no current OW service to BGR, since AA dropped their LGA flights.

If you ever need to work at BGR, the airport hotel has a business centre.
