3 bonus miles per dollar spent doesn't really get beneficial unless you are purchasing a full fare coach ticket or international. For advanced purchase coach tickets, it doesn't add up.

Here's my logic. Spend $300 for a cheapie ticket and earn a bonus of 900 miles. Purchase that same ticket through the airline website and earn a minimum of 1,000 bonus miles that will probably post sooner.
