The good news is that there are flights operated by UA or a UA codeshare nearly every hour from 2PM to 6:45PM from YUL-EWR. When you do your final booking, do be sure to take into account akcae's advice; i.e., factor immigration into the connection. Don't just take the shortest connection or you may be on the standby bubble (odds are, you would get a flight - but it could be more of a wait than you had expected). More good news - you will land at EWR a free man - no waiting for immigration there.
