Here is another SHARES success story.
Active Duty Military checking in on his flight overseas with orders and a passport. CSR says we can't check you in, because you need a visa for that country. AD tells CSR that is not correct, and CSR says sorry, you can't board - and then sends his luggage outbound on the flight. His supervisor calls to ask WTH, and United supervisor says sorry, the CSR was looking at the wrong screen.
Way to go, United.
Different story.
Colleague tells me this morning of his recent exerience on a LHR-IAD flight. He was given an UG, then called back to the counter to have it revoked. CSR said sorry, someone bought the UG during check in. Colleague - a 1K - was never offered the opportunity to purchase the UG.
I would love to have someone explain to me why United refuses to extend these offers to its elite members.
