Just recently flew to MXP on TG's 346 and back from ATH on SQ's 772ER with spacebeds. I was fearing the worst given how old the spacebeds are, especially after being used to SQ's 380/77W/345 product and the new regional J.
However I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the seats were in the angled flat position - but it pays to put to the seat into the flat position and put a very slight kink into it to prevent slipping down, this seems to be the trick on any airline who have angled seats. Sitting up, I managed to adjust to a comfortable position (as I used to fly on 744's regularly between MEL/SIN and familiar with the tricks), however I noticed a few people were struggling with getting the seat into the right position.
And compared to TG's 346 angled lie flat product? I felt the spacebed was more comfortable - it seemed to have more padding and it was definitely wider, which is important for me. I felt my shoulders were cramped on the TG seat, but definitely not on the spacebed. And in any event one simply can't complain given SQ's fares ex-ATH.
