I prefer seat 14A over 15A. I just flew in that seat NRT-ORD (coming from BKK... where I had seat 9K on 777 BKK-NRT). Yes, flying backwards is only 'weird' at take-off and landing, I agree. I've flown both forward/backward. I prefer forward. As far as incline, I never do recline the seat all the way flat. I prefer reclining to a mostly-flat comfortable position with my head angled higher than my feet. I love the storage at seat 14A. 15A would be the same. The window is not right next to your seat. Instead, there are cubbie hole spaces that are fantastic! You really don't need to use the (small) overhead bin at all; your larger wheel-aboard has to be stowed in the closet at the top of the stairs. Make sure you keep, and stow, what you need in the cubbie spaces by your window seat, for easy access during the flight.
I probably slept about 6 hours on this trip back (BKK-ORD). I will sometimes sleep almost all of the way!
Enjoy the upper deck. It's my favorite place to sit.
