It is interesting to note that the amount of time that the new GUI interface for SHARES is lagging from the 3/3 startup date is very close to that which was spent attempting to modify Fastair to port to SHARES.........under the direction of the previous CIO.

Fastair was written for Apollo. While it worked well with Apollo......it, in fact WAS DOS based, written by a company called Infinity, out of Boulder, CO that went our of business. This same company had written an applicaiton called ASAP, which CO had used at some locations, but abandoned when they left the former DOS/Novelle platform.

So, the lag time for a true Windows based GUI overlay for SHARES may indeed rest with the lauded CIO that was looking to sabotage the conversion to SHARES in the first place. Had that time not been frittered away with attempting to rewrite a 20+ yr old applicaiton that was specifically written for a different host, the new GUI may be in place already.

Was just at SFO and heard the same thing.
So.... maybe start a thread about it? (not related to this thread's topic)
