I found it humourous in the UNITED "fact" section that whenever they mention Southwest they say "Dallas based Southwest Airlines". It is mentioned at least 12 times in the webpage, but they never say "Chicago based UNITED"....
Why should they? WN is truly Dallas-based (not withstanding the Airtran purchase) and admits as such on the other page.
United has a major hub in Chicago, and has corporate HQ there. But IAH and EWR are the massive hubs.
So it wouldn't be the same thing to write Chicago-based in this instance.
