I would opt instead for something like 6B/C. The A/D seats really aren't great window seats anyway. Again, not ideal but at least you are sitting together. As I reported some time ago, I did see a couple... uh, let's say make the best of this seating arrangement.
As for the remod 747 upstairs, again I love it but this is not great seating for couples. I would choose downstairs if flying with someone else.
Seems like the best couple seats on the 74S will be the pairs on the main deck, since they face each other. I wouldn't want one of those if I weren't traveling with the person opposite.
