IMHO, the 777 BE is not particularly couple friendly. Flying alone almost all the time, I love it but for a couple, not the best seating.
I would opt instead for something like 6B/C. The A/D seats really aren't great window seats anyway. Again, not ideal but at least you are sitting together. As I reported some time ago, I did see a couple... uh, let's say make the best of this seating arrangement.
As for the remod 747 upstairs, again I love it but this is not great seating for couples. I would choose downstairs if flying with someone else.
