Completey agree with CMV, definitely skip HNL in favor of Maui. I have been to both and think that Maui is both more relaxing and more enjoyable. For a fantastic hotel, check out the Four Seasons Maui at Wailea. While rather pricey it is completely worth it with amazing service, great rooms, and a picturesque beach
