If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough. Hard to believe the guy in the article is a flight instructor. Hopefully none of his students ever get their ATP license.

"Well folks, this is your captain speaking. Seems I've been taught to take the most convoluted flight path possible to get from point A to point B because I have no concept of the value of time. First we'll take off with just enough fuel to backtrack to an airport that has JET-A at a cheaper price. Then we'll overfly the original airport and hang a left. If things work out we'll land at an airport 100 miles from your original destination because of lower landing fees. It may take 12 hours instead of 5 but you saved $100 err... minus the cost of the cab needed to get you to your final destination."
