Does being on award ticket matter?

If I have a paid F ticket and want to go standby on an earlier flight (in F); I should be granted an F seat if available and in the order I'm entitled by status, IRROPs, etc. Seems the same should go for awards.

It would see to me that there would be separate orders for those standing by for an F seat and those standing by for a Y seat, no?
