I'd really recommend that folks try it out some time from EWR/JFK and go in the re-configed 747's. Really fantastic.
It gets old very fast.
The FCT is very nice and all that, but protocol is too hoity-toity..
The LH AVOD totally sucks and even with my Bose QC15's, the audio quality sucks totally, as compared to Jet's A332's and United's (old-CO's) 777's.
Further, the food is not always edible, and I now prefer CO biz over LH F.
Last LH F segment I flew, the old Deutsche FA told *me* to stow my own rollerboard in the closet! (I usually would prefer to do this, but every other flight I have taken they have all insisted on doing it for me) Has to do with the anti-American perception of some of them (yes, read cheap/available US-based airline miles, possibly), which is quickly diminished once I'm on board, but sometimes, as in that case, it persists, no matter what you do or say...
However, the FCT is clearly a defining factor, and if I could experience this during a stopover, it would push me towards LH, but I dread enduring 2 x LH F segments now - never any good beef on board, and when they choose to serve it, it cannot even be cut by steel cutlery.
Jet just blew me away with their food on board BRU segments to EWR , so if I get a chance I'm flying them - as long as they can match other pricing in J...
(Counterpoint: Jet horrifies me with their current offerings or lack thereof on domestic J nowadays)
Edited to Add: And no other beds (including the new LH F) are as good as Jet's biz seats with mattresses...I even advised the LH CEO Franz about Jet's mattresses and how much better they were, so this is why LH implemented it. At the time, I had no idea who I was sitting next to - only after I opened the LH magazine!)
