Just another datapoint, but we needed to tack-on a one-night stay to our visit to the MVCI property co-located with the JW.

I booked both the Ren and the JW. Received an email within a few days from the Ren welcoming us back and letting me know that they would be happy to upgrade us to a one-bed pool villa again as returning elite guests. I cancelled the JW reservation and am happy to give my business to the Ren.

Btw - still staying at the JW/MVCI at the moment - but wandered down the beach to look around the Renaissance. It has 'grown-in' nicely over the year or two since we were last here and is a nice hotel. If it were further form the JW I'd have to make more of a choice between the two, but since they are 5 mins apart and one can always use the JW restaurants and spa facilities if one wants I fail to see why one must choose to stay at the JW even if one prefers those facilities.
