Meal Priority - Where's my chicken?
So I flew recently to Male on holidays with my family (wife + 3 children), CW out, WT in.
I have bagged 3'500TPs so far this year and the rest of the family is silver.
We were on rows 10 out and 37 in. Going out I had forgotten the kids meal options so we were served regular meals.
There were in total 3 chicken meals (1 in CW night flight, 2 in WT day flight) but none of us was ever given this option (in WT we had 3 kids meals but there were only 2 choices chicken or pasta).
The crew in CW was terribly unfriendly and when i did complain (only on the basis that out of 5 it would have been nice to still have 1 available option) the pursuer came back later aggressively giving me the option to choose 'fruits or cheese as a huge favor' but I had to decide quickly as if it was a great compensation and a great service when in reality everyone got to choose and her tone was just wrong.
The WT crew coming back was great and frankly I rarely saw such recognition (thank you IPAD). The pursuer thanked me for the continued business, went to get me a newspaper and more importantly (as the flight was not completely full) made sure (and it was not easy) that our group of 5 (who were on 6 seats) got an extra 3 seats in a middle row so that the kids could sleep...Now that is GREAT service and far more important than meal choice but I still didnt get meal choice and ended up eating pasta twice.
All in all I was happy (particularly given the WT crew attitude) but clearly:
its not part of the BA procedures to prioritize meals (some cabin crew do it but I suspect most don't)
BA put more chicken...
