Probably true, but from a customer perspective not a good thing. BA will not be receiving a dozen A380s all at once. Those deliveries will occur over a 3 or 4 year period I believe. Many of the ratty old 747s they will replace will probably be flying for another 4-5 years in some cases. Will BA keep them flying that long, not only with OF, but with steadily deteriorating interiors in an effort not to spend money to keep them up - because "someday" they'll be retired?
I had OF on a flight LHR-LAX and it was, well..., old.
