Online select Advance Flight search, enter the 1016xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ecert number as a "Offer Code:"
If you are redeeming a United electronic travel certificate (beginning with 1016) or promotion code:
Begin your flight search on either the united.com home page or the flight search page. Enter your origin and destination information and your travel dates.
Enter your certificate number or promotion code in the “Offer Code” box. Enter the numbers without any spaces between digits.
Just above the “Search” button, select the option to search by schedule or by price. You will not be able to use your certificate if you search by award travel.
Click the “Search” button. Select the discounted flights you wish to book, and continue to complete your purchase. (Note that discounted flights are marked with a blue star icon

If you are redeeming a paper certificate:
Paper certificates cannot be redeemed online or at the airport. Call United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) to redeem your certificate. You will also need to mail your certificate to:

The discount on your ticket will be applied once we receive your certificate. If you mail your certificate 14 days in advance of making your reservation, the discount will be applied at the time when the ticket is issued. Mailing your certificate within 14 days of making your reservation will result in the ticket being issued at the original fare. Once the ticket processing center receives your certificate, the applicable value will be refunded to the form of payment used for purchase.
