2.5 hours should be more than enough time to connect, especially since you'll clear US customs and immigration in YYZ (I think). Check out the LAX map in this previous post of mine -- if you aren't carrying a lot of stuff, it's indeed very easy to walk from T2-T7 following "East Way - Lower Level."
