my measurements came out right around 23 1/4 but that assume that I squat down the top handle (not the dolly handle) because it can and it should when fitting into the sizer and the bind door closes fine that way.

mind you, it's the depth on this bag. there is like an inch of depth on the front pocket that sticks out when the bag is full (even when that section isn't occupied). That blows up the depth of the bag to 11 inches from 10 inches. When you go over 10 inches it won't go in the sizers.

fyi. a real strong lady sitting next to me had the Costco bag in question ( I returned mine after my last post) from BUR to Oakland today on Southwest 737-700. She closed the cabin door OK but the bag got stuck on the bin door hinge because it was so full). Somehow she managed to strong arm the bag and pulled it out.
