Depends on how large your adults are. I'd say, 2 averaged sized adults can comfortably sprawl on the back seat. The center position isn't very comfortable for a long drive, so no more than two adults.

I'm over six feet and even with my front seat adjusted properly, there was still plenty of backseat legroom (the photos show my seat exactly where I left it).
