I am a PPS member and I don't buy a single line of that story. You call them, let them sort it out and they call you back. If that's not working you call them again and talk to a supervisor. If you are on a paid F ticket, they will go out of their way to find a solution.
If money doesn't matter, you call a travel agent and let them make new arrangements. Takes 5 minutes.
Some people just seem to have too much time on their hands...
I appreciate your opinion and I'm glad you have different experiences. YES, I probably could've called my travel agency to sort it out with new tickets etc. However, in all honesty, it didn't come to mind until after a while. I guess I did get stressed…
You do get a bit frustrated when the person on the phone tells you that all flights are fully booked for the coming 5 days! (turns out that was not true, but that's another story…)
As for too much time on their hands, be happy you don't, but there's not that much you can do at 4 am (11 pm back in Europe) I guess I'm just not as good at going up the food chain as you are. I will try to ask for the supervisor earlier next time round!
