Is this option really that bad? I'm having trouble finding award availability on TG to USM, so was thinking of flying to URT, renting a car (so that I have a car on the island), and driving to the ferry to Samui. Would this be plausible? How often do the ferries that have car capacity run to/from the island? I think I'd rather spend the extra time and inconvenience than spending the >$500 on the hour-long flight. Unless the general consensus is that it's a major inconvenience....
